Resources for students and tools to search for adult education programs by city, zip, or address.

The California Adult Education Provider Directory External link opens in new window or tab. consists of information about several hundred public adult schools, community colleges, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, library literacy programs, and county offices of education.

An adult who is looking for a program can locate the closest schools by simply entering a zip code. Information provided about each program includes its address, phone number, map, transportation options, and a link to a school Web site, if available.

Adult educators and other staff can use the advanced search option for networking. Advanced search options include agency and site names, county, type of program, and adult education service region.

High School Equivalency (HSE) Tests
California has approved the use of three high school equivalency tests (GED and HiSET) for students 18 years old and older, and 17 years old in some instances, for the purpose of receiving a California High School Equivalency Certificate.
