Addresses accessibility and accommodations for students who are English learners and students with disabilities who are taking Smarter Balanced assessments.

Smarter Balanced Usability, Accessibility, and Accommodations Guidelines

Developed with help from Consortium state members, English Language Learners and Students with Disabilities advisory committees, as well as content area specialists, the Smarter Balanced Usability, Accessibility, and Accommodations Guidelines describe the proposed supports for Smarter Balanced assessments. The document provides guidance to classroom teachers, English development educators, special education teachers, and related services personnel in selecting and implementing supports. The Guidelines are also helpful to assessment staff and administrators who oversee the decisions made for instruction and assessment.
