SFSF requirements published in the Federal Register (PDF; Outside Source) on November 12, 2009, 34 CFR Chapter II, pp 58484 and 58485 require states to report on the progress of PI and charter schools (Indicators (d)(1), (d)(2), (d)(9), and (d)(10)). This is a one-time reporting requirement to determine progress from 2009 to 2010 based on Adequate Yearly Progress results (i.e., Standardized Testing and Reporting in ELA and mathematics for grades two through eight and the California High School Exit Examination for grade ten).
Statewide and Student Group Progress
Progress is defined as meeting or exceeding the average statewide gains in the percent of students scoring proficient or above from 2009 to 2010, as reported in Adequate Yearly Progress, at the school level and for each numerically significant student group at the school. If the average statewide gains is equal to or less than zero, the gains of the school must be greater than zero.
The table below provides the statewide change in the percent proficient on Adequate Yearly Progress from 2009 to 2010 (progress was established using data as of January 13, 2011).
