Mathematics SMC Chair Wagoner called the meeting of the Mathematics SMC to order at 4:00 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss plans for the 2007 Mathematics Adoption Publisher Briefing on December 1, 2006, including:
- Review of the agenda for the Dec. 1 Briefing
- Review of the PowerPoint slides
- Discussion of Commissioner and staff assignments for the Briefing
Curriculum Frameworks and Instructional Resources (CFIR) staff explained the Publisher Briefing will focus on standards maps for the three types of programs for the 2007 Mathematics Adoption. At their November meeting, the SBE approved standards maps for all three programs. The SBE action is reflected in draft PowerPoint slides for review.
Commissioners reviewed the slides and suggested changes. There was agreement on assignments for Commissioners and staff during the Publisher Briefing. It was agreed that staff will have revised slides and talking points by the Commission meeting on November 30, 2006.
Chair Wagoner called for public comments and then adjourned the meeting at 5:45 p.m.
