Community Meeting

The State Board of Education (SBE) and the California Department of Education (CDE) are planning a community meeting to:

• Explain the SBE’s actions on March 30, 2010, and the process for selecting a long-term State-appointed Trustee for the Alisal Union Elementary School District
• Gather community recommendations for the Trustee’s qualities
• Receive community input for local priorities for the District

We encourage parents/guardians and other community members to address SBE President Ted Mitchell, Board Member David Lopez, and staff of SBE and CDE.

The school is fully accessible to persons with disabilities. The District will provide Spanish-English translation services and child care services for parents at the school.

We anticipate that many members of the community will want to share their thoughts; therefore, we will limit speakers to two minutes. However, we would encourage community members to write down their comments and submit them at the community meeting or mail them directly to the State Board of Education office in Sacramento at the address indicated below.

We also expect that once a long-term State-appointed Trustee is named for the Alisal Union Elementary School District, that there will be continued community meetings.
