STAR Public Hearings

Regional public hearings will be conducted for the purpose of gathering comments from a cross section of interested parties, including teachers, administrators, school board members and other local elected officials, business leaders, parents, guardians, and students. Comments and suggestions are sought on the proposed cut scores on the respective tests that will determine students’ performance levels.

  The State Board of Education (SBE) is proposing to adopt the performance standards (levels) for the California Modified Assessment (CMA) for English-Language Arts (ELA) in Grades Ten and Eleven and Geometry.

• California Alternate Performance Assessment (CAPA) Public Hearing Announcement (Revised 17-Oct-2008)
  The State Board of Education (SBE) is proposing to adopt revised performance levels for the CAPA English–language arts levels I–V and mathematics levels I–V and new science performance levels for I, III, IV, and V. All of these exams were administered to students during the STAR 2008 program.
