Request for public comment on California’s requesting the authority to obligate funds for the State-administered Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) program to be extended to September 30, 2012.
Notice is hereby given that California has requested the U.S. Department of Education (ED) to waive Section 421(b) of the General Education Provisions Act (GEPA) (the “Tydings Amendment”) as it affects the authority of California and its sub-recipients to obligate federal fiscal year (FY) 2009 regular and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds after September 30, 2011.
The purpose of this public notice is to notify you of the opportunity to submit written public comment on the waiver request to the ED regarding to extend through September 30, 2012, the period to obligate federal FY 2009 regular and ARRA funds under the ESEA state-administered formula programs for:
