Resources for the apprenticeship programs.

Significant documents and Web links for teachers, administrators, and program sponsors at adult education and Regional Occupational Center and Program (ROCP) agencies supporting apprenticeship programs are provided below. Some of the links are to documents and some link directly to another Web site.

Administrative Summary on Apprenticeship
Published by the California Department of Education (CDE) and gives brief information about the roles of agencies supporting the apprenticeship program.

Annual Report

Required by the Budget Act of 2007 and published by the CDE to report the costs of the related and supplemental instruction funding for the CDE-linked apprenticeship programs. Contact John Dunn at 916-319-0460 or jdunn@cde.ca.gov for a copy of the current annual report.

California Department of Industrial Relations (Outside Source)
Proposed Title 8, Chapter 2 regulations, information about the California Apprenticeship Council (Outside Source) and their role in apprenticeship, information about the Division of Apprenticeship Standards (Outside Source) and its role in apprenticeship, and annual published reports.

Apprenticeship Instructional Materials

The materials, published by the CDE, include workbooks, test books, and final examinations. The instructional materials cover carpentry/construction, drywall construction, floor covering, meat cutting, roofing, and tile setting. For information on examinations and answer keys, call 1-800-995-4099.

Industrial and Technology Education Career Path Guide and Model Curriculum Standards

Publication provides descriptions of standards and activities for technology, construction, drafting, electronics, engineering, graphic communications, manufacturing, and transportation and energy. It is item number 1258 and can be purchased from the CDE Press.

V-TECS Career Cluster Framework (Outside Source)
The framework, published by the U.S. Department of Education, relates career clusters, concentrations, and occupational specialties to 16 families.
