American Government Graduation Requirement

Minimum set for historical documents that must be read and taught as part of the American Government course.
As California Education Code Section 51225.3 (a)(1)(D) specifies, an American government course is required for high school graduation. A minimum set of historical documents that must be read and taught as part of the American government course are:
  1. The Declaration of Independence.
  2. The Emancipation Proclamation.
  3. The Federalist Papers.
  4. George Washington's Farewell Address.
  5. The Gettysburg Address.
  6. The United States Constitution, including the Bill of Rights.
