College Admission Requirements
Students planning to apply to a four-year California public university are required to complete course work that exceeds the state-mandated requirements for high school graduation.


A-G Cadre of Experts Program
The "a-g" Cadre of Experts is a partner project to the "a-g" Interactive Guide project.

A-G Interactive Guide Project
The California Department of Education contracts with the University of California (UC), Office of the President, for the continuation of the "a-g" Interactive Guide Project.

Byrd Honors Scholarship Program
A federally funded, State-administered scholarship program to recognize high school seniors who show promise of excellence in postsecondary education.

Early Assessment Program
A collaborative effort between the California Department of Education, the California State University, and the State Board of Education designed to assess students for college readiness in their high school junior year.

Early Commitment to College Program
A voluntary program designed to improve college readiness and college enrollment rates among low income students and among students attending schools with the greatest poverty.

Focus on Learning – Joint WASC/CDE Process
An evaluation process designed to be used by public high schools in California that choose to pursue accreditation requirements.

High School Resources
Supports local educational agencies, grades 9-12, to improve student achievement and transition to postsecondary education and careers.

International Baccalaureate Program

Two-year comprehensive and rigorous pre-university curriculum.

Intersegmental Coordinating Committee
A policy making and deliberative body that is the programmatic arm of the California Education Round Table.

Student Friendly Services
A grant created to operate a college and career planning Web resource for students, parents, teachers, and counselors.
