2019 Revision of the Health Education Framework

Curriculum Framework and Evaluation Criteria Committee (CFCC)
The application for the Curriculum Framework and Evaluation Criteria Committee (CFCC) closed on Thursday, December 15, 2016. The Instructional Quality Commission will review the submitted applications and recommend CFCC members to the State Board of Education. The State Board of Education is scheduled to appoint members of the CFCC in March 2017.
The CDE convened four focus group meetings in November 2016 to provide input on the revision of the Health Education Framework. The meetings were open to the public, and there was an opportunity for public comment at each meeting.

- Focus Group Discussion Questions
At each focus group meeting, the focus group members addressed a set of questions regarding the content for the revised Health Education Framework. Interested health education stakeholders are invited to submit their responses to the discussion questions.

Please note that the 2003 Health Framework is no longer current. It does not reflect the Health Education Content Standards adopted by the State Board of Education in March 2008. In addition, the section on Family Living (pages 63-64) is inconsistent with the current state law.
