May 10, 2007

Dear Publishers of Kindergarten through Grade Eight Mathematics Instructional Materials:

2007 Mathematics Primary Adoption
Distribution of Instructional Materials to Curriculum Commissioners
(Publisher Bulletin 2007-14)

The purpose of this bulletin is to provide information to each publisher regarding the requests Commissioners have made to receive instructional materials and the addresses to which the instructional materials should be shipped. At the January 9, 2007, Invitation to Submit Meeting, we indicated we would provide this information to you in May.

Many of the Commissioners have chosen to review the materials at a Learning Resource Display Center (LRDC) rather than have the materials shipped to them. Other Commissioners have opted to have some of the programs shipped to them and have chosen to review the remaining programs at an LRDC.

There are two attachments to this bulletin. Both *attachments are publisher and program specific:

  • *Attachment A indicates which of your submitted programs have been requested by which Commissioners.
  • *Attachment B lists the shipping addresses for each Commissioner requesting your submitted program. Please note: some Commissioners have requested Student and Teacher texts only while others have requested the entire program.

In shipping these materials, please follow the guidance for labels we indicated in the Invitations to Submit on pages 24-27. Many of these shipments will be made to public schools or private homes where space is limited. Please minimize packaging and avoid the shipping of duplicate materials.

Commissioners will inventory the materials they receive and will notify the California Department of Education (CDE) of any missing items. CDE in turn will contact publishers. At some later date Commissioners may request additional copies prior to final action by the State Board of Education in November of 2007. Publishers will be notified in writing of any further requests.

If you have questions about this bulletin, please contact Jean James, Consultant/Publisher Liaison, Instructional Resources Unit, Curriculum Frameworks and Instructional Resources Division, 916-319-0444, or by e-mail at jjames@cde.ca.gov.

Sincerely,

Thomas Adams, Director
Curriculum Frameworks and Instructional Resources Division
