Dear Publishers of Kindergarten through Grade Eight Mathematics Instructional Materials:
Instructional Material Advisory Panel (IMAP) and Content Review Panel (CRP) members have been conducting their own independent reviews of submitted materials in preparation for when panels convene in Sacramento for deliberations. During deliberations, each panel will meet to discuss and evaluate programs and produce a Report of Findings on each program. This bulletin requests information from you that will help panel members develop the Report of Findings.
There will be more than fifty Reports of Findings for this adoption. To assist with the report writing process, we are requesting an electronic version of the glossary for your program (in Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format). Reports may include suggested edits and corrections and panel members have been instructed to provide this information electronically. Typically, the glossary is one part of the program that tends to generate suggested edits and corrections. An electronic version of the glossary could help minimize the typing required for report writing.
Some technology-based programs require individuals to complete a problem before moving on through the program. For purposes of reviewing a program for adoption, this can add a significant amount of time to the review process. If your program is set-up in this way, please let us know if it is possible to review the materials without doing all of the problems (e.g., does the program have an accelerator function, teacher overview, fast forward function, etc.). We plan to forward this information to the reviewers.
