Dear Publishers of Mathematics Instructional Materials for Kindergarten Through Grade Eight.:

2007 MATHEMATICS PRIMARY ADOPTION
FOLLOW-UP TO BOARD ACTION: EDITS AND CORRECTIONS SCHEDULE
(PUBLISHER BULLETIN 2007-21)
BASIC GRADE-LEVEL PROGRAMS

This bulletin provides you with information about the upcoming Edits and Corrections Meeting for the 2007 Mathematics Primary Adoption scheduled for November 27-28, 2007, for publishers of Basic Grade-Level Programs (Kindergarten through Grade Eight). This meeting will address the minor edits and corrections. The edits and corrections that will be reviewed during your meeting will be those that appear in the 2007 Mathematics Primary Adoption Curriculum Commission Advisory Report that was forwarded to the State Board of Education (SBE).

The meeting will take place in Room 3101 of the California Department of Education (CDE) building at 1430 N Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. Attached to this bulletin is the scheduled meeting date and time for your company/program.

In addition, please bring the following:

  1. Ten copies of tear sheets of your proposed edits and corrections* outlined in the Curriculum Commission’s Advisory Report to the SBE showing how the material looks currently, and how the material will look after the necessary edits and/or corrections have been made
  2. Any textbooks you might refer to during the review

*(Note: it is important that you have the original pages, in addition to the corrected pages, since we will not have the instructional materials available at the meeting.) For each edit/correction, identify the name of the textbook, the International Standard Book Number (ISBN), and the page number.

Publishers should not include additional edits or corrections beyond those specified in the 2007 Mathematics Primary Adoption Curriculum Commission Advisory Report. Adding new content, or revising your materials beyond the specified edits and corrections, may be grounds for disqualification from the adoption list until such revisions are removed.

In addition, we also ask that you appear one hour prior to your scheduled meeting time. As reviews may proceed more quickly than anticipated, the reviewers may wish to advance your meeting to an earlier time. Please forward all communication regarding this meeting to:
