Dear County and District Superintendents and Charter School Administrators:
DRAFT PHYSICAL EDUCATION FRAMEWORK POSTED FOR REVIEW
Pursuant to the California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 5, Section 9515(c), the California Department of Education (CDE) has posted the draft Physical Education Framework for California Public Schools (Framework) on the CDE Web site at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/pe/cf for public review and comment. In addition, copies of the draft Framework are available for review at Learning Resources Display Centers.
The Curriculum Development and Supplemental Materials Commission (Curriculum Commission) took action on May 16, 2008, to recommend the draft Framework to the State Board of Education (SBE) for adoption. The SBE is scheduled to take action on the Curriculum Commission’s recommendation at its September 10-11, 2008, meeting.
We invite you and your colleagues to review the draft Framework and submit comments. All comments received will be forwarded to the SBE Office. Written comments regarding the draft Framework can be mailed or faxed to:
