The Educational Demographics Office administers the CBEDS and Language Census (LC) data collections for California public schools on an annual basis. They also report out on enrollment, graduate, and drop out data, which are collected through the annual Statewide Student Identifier (SSID) Process through California School Information Services (CSIS). The CBEDS and SSID data are collected in October of each year and the Language Census data are collected in March of each year.
Although the certification of statewide data takes some time, the primary reason for the time "gap" between data submission dates and data release dates is that some districts do not submit complete data on time. All data collected are certified and released in stages as the data become available. Our projected release schedules for each year are in the "Yearly Projected Dates" columns below. As we get closer to certification and release of data, the schedules in the "Projected Dates for Release" columns below will be updated with the current school year's projected release dates.

Release of Aggregate Data Files:
Our first priority is to prepare complete data files. All aggregate files will be updated as time permits.
Release of Data Reports:
Demographic data reports will not be available until after the data are certified. Viewable demographic data reports will be posted throughout the year to coincide with demand. Please note that reports that are available on DataQuest will not be posted on the Data Reports Web pages.
