File Structure: Class Section Enrollment 2012

File structure for statewide class section data, including total class enrollment on Information Day by student grade, gender, and racial/ethnic designations.

Note: This file contains the course data by assignment code. This file is used to reference and match assignment codes to the staff demographics files and the assignment code file. Files must be from the same year to match staff identification codes (REC_ID).This file contains approximately 2,915,949 records. Some spreadsheets and editors will not support files of this size. Most database software programs (i.e., MS-SQL, Access, etc.) will be able to support this data set.

A unique identifier for a Class assigned by a local educational agency. The Class ID must be unique within a school by Academic Year. A Class ID represents a unique class in a school for an academic year.

A Class is defined as a specific instance where one or more Course Sections are delivered to one or more students by one or more teachers. In most cases, a Class would represent a specific teacher teaching a specific Course Section to a set of students at a specific time at a specific location. In another scenario, a class could represent one teacher teaching multiple Course Sections to groups of students at the same time in the same location.

  • 08 = 8th Grade
  • 09 = 9th Grade
  • 10 = 10th Grade
