When using these data, keep in mind the following factors:
-
Be aware that these data are collected at different times of the year and represent counts of students at that point in time. Elements from one source can not be combined with elements from any of the other sources to make assumptions regarding individual students.
-
CBEDS enrollment counts are collected on "Information Day" in early October and represent students enrolled in school on that day.
-
Free or Reduced Price Meal Program data contains counts of children enrolled in the program. The data collection identifies all economically disadvantaged children ages 5 through 17 residing in the boundaries of the local educational agency (LEA) even if they are not attending that LEA. As a result, students included in this collection may not be included in the CBEDS enrollment counts.
-
The Language Census (R30-LC) collects counts of students in early spring when there are more migrant students enrolled in schools. As a result, students included in this collection may not have been included in the CBEDS enrollment counts.
- Be careful when comparing race and language data. For example, if you have one Hispanic student at a school and one student whose primary language is Spanish, do not assume these are the same student.
