CDS_CODE

This 14-digit code is the official, unique identification of a school within California. The first two digits identify the county, the next five digits identify the school district, and the last seven digits identify the school.

ETHNIC

This is a coded field for ethnic designation. The ethnic designations are coded as follows:

• Code 1 = American Indian or Alaska Native
• Code 2 = Asian
• Code 3 = Pacific Islander
• Code 4 = Filipino
• Code 5 = Hispanic or Latino
• Code 6 = African American, not Hispanic (formerly known as Black, not Hispanic)
• Code 7 = White, not Hispanic

SEX

This field is a coded field identifying gender. The gender is coded as follows:

• M = Male
• F = Female

SFT_PP

Number of full-time paraprofessional staff. This group of classified staff includes teaching assistants, teachers aides, pupil services aides and library aides.

SPT_PP

Number of part-time paraprofessional staff. This group of classified staff includes teaching assistants, teacher aides, pupil services aides and library aides. Refer to "Definition of classified staff" above for more information.

SFT_CLER

Number of full-time office/clerical staff. This group of classified staff are those with clerical or administrative support duties, such as a school secretary. Refer to "Definition of classified staff" above for more information.

SPT_CLER

Number of part-time office/clerical staff. This group of classified staff are those with clerical or administrative support duties, such as a school secretary. Refer to "Definition of classified staff" above for more information.

SFT_OTH

Number of full-time classified staff in the subcatagory of "other". This group of classified staff includes all the remaining non-certificated staff, such as custodians, bus drivers, and cafeteria workers. Refer to "Definition of classified staff" above for more information.

SPT_OTH

Number of part-time classified staff in the subcatagory of "other". This group of classified staff includes all the remaining non-certificated staff, such as custodians, bus drivers, and cafeteria workers. Refer to "Definition of classified staff" above for more information.

Students enrolled in kindergarten.

Students enrolled in grade one.

GR_2

Students enrolled in grade two.

ENR_TOTAL

Total school enrollment for fields Kindergarten (KDGN) through grade twelve (GR_12) plus ungraded elementary (UNGR_ELM) and ungraded secondary (UNGR_SEC). Adults in kindergarten through grade twelve programs are not included.

GRADS

Number of twelfth-grade graduates from the previous year. This data includes summer graduates and does not include students with high school equivalencies (i.e., General Educational Development [GED] or California High School Proficiency Exam [CHSPE]).

UC_GRADS

Number of twelfth-grade graduates from the previous year who also completed all courses required for entry into the University of California (UC) and/or California State University (CSU) with a grade "C" or better. The data includes summer graduates and does not include students with high school equivalencies (i.e., GED or CHSPE).

INT_ALG

Enrollment in intermediate algebra or algebra II courses in grades nine through twelve.

ADV_MATH

Enrollment in any other 3rd or 4th year advanced math course in grades nine through twelve.

CHEM

Enrollment in first year chemistry courses grades nine through twelve.

PHYS

Enrollment in first year physics courses in grades nine through twelve.

VOC_ED

Vocational education enrollment in grades nine through twelve. Regional Ocupational Center/Program (ROC/P) students are not included.
