File structure for unduplicated free and reduced price meals data and English learner (EL) designation data for 2012–13.

Description

County Code

Two-digit county code.

District Code

Five-digit district code.

School Code

Seven-digit school code (this field is populated for charter schools only).

Charter School Indicator (Y/N) "Y" indicates the school is a charter school. “N” indicates the entity is an LEA and not a charter school.

Direct Funded Charter School Number

This field represents the charter school number. Only direct funded charter schools have numbers in this field.

Provision 2 or 3 School

For a charter school, this indicates whether a school is on a National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provision 2 or 3 status. “Y” indicates the school is on a provisional status; “N” indicates the school is not.

For LEAs, this indicates whether there are one or more schools on provision 2 or 3 status in the LEA. "Y" indicates there is at least one school on provisional status; "N" indicates there are no schools on provisional status in the LEA.

School name (this field is populated for charter schools only).

Low Grade

Lowest grade offered.

October Enrollment (K–12)

October LEA enrollment (primary or short-term) of students in grades kindergarten through twelve.

October EL Enrollment (K–12)

Of the students enrolled in the LEA, the count of students in grades kindergarten through twelve who are identified as English learners (ELs).

October Free Meal Count (K–12)

Of the students enrolled in the LEA, the unduplicated count of students in grades kindergarten through twelve who are eligible to receive free meals. Students may be eligible for free meals based on applying for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), or who are determined to meet the same income eligibility criteria as the NSLP, through their local schools, their homeless, migrant, or foster status, or participation in California’s food stamp program.

October Reduced Price Meal Count (K–12)

Of the students enrolled in the LEA, the number of students in grades kindergarten through twelve who are eligible to receive reduced price meals based on applying for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), or who are determined to meet the same income eligibility criteria as the NSLP, through their local schools. (Note: Some of these students may also be included in the Free Meal Count based on their foster, migrant, or homeless status, or because they were directly certified.)

October FRPM Total Unduplicated Count (K–12)

The total unduplicated count of students enrolled in the LEA who are eligible to receive free or reduced price meals (FRPM).

October FRPM or EL Unduplicated Count (K–12) Of the students enrolled in the LEA, the unduplicated count of students in grades kindergarten through twelve who are identified as ELs and/or are eligible to receive free or reduced price meals.
