Subject: CALPADS Update FLASH #60
The CDE recognizes that there are EOY 2–4 related defects that are preventing some LEAs from certifying their EOY 2–4 submissions. These defects will be addressed and will be available in the production environment mid next week. If these defects are affecting your data, the CDE suggests that you wait to certify your data until after the defects have been resolved in the production environment. You must, however, certify your data by September 12, 2012, the close of the Amendment Window. The defects that will be addressed include:
|2635||EOY 2||Report 5.5 Homeless Student List – Snapshot version of 5.5 report is missing students that were homeless during the reporting period|
|2650||EOY 2||Snapshot reports 5.1 Program Participants – Count, and 5.3 Program Participants – Student List, are not counting all students in the snapshot|
|2553||EOY 2||Report 5.1 Program Participants – Count, contain an NPS program record that is not associated with the LEA|
|2631||EOY 2||Snapshot report 5.4 – Homeless Students Enrolled, will not render for larger LEAs|
|2646||EOY 3||Snapshot and ODS reports 7.5 Discipline Offenses – Student List, is duplicating students|
The CDE will notify LEAs when the fixes to these defects have been released to the production environment.
The CDE also recognizes that there are EOY 1 related defects that are preventing some LEAs from certifying their EOY 1 submissions. If your LEA can certify EOY 1, the CDE encourages you to do so by the September 12th deadline. For those LEAs unable to certify EOY 1 due to defects, certification is optional this year.
Accountability Continuous Enrollment Files Available
A letter dated August 27, 2012 was sent to LEA Accountability Coordinators with information about how to access data files that indicate which students in your LEA have been identified as continuously enrolled for accountability purposes based on CALPADS enrollment and exit code data extracted from the CALPADS ODS on August 15, 2012. This letter will be posted shortly on the CDE CALPADS Communications Web page.
The CDE will be providing more information about the business rules used to determine continuous enrollment and the specific dates enrollment and exit data are extracted. The CDE will next extract CALPADS ODS enrollment and exit data on December 20, 2012 and update the API and AYP reports to reflect updates made to CALPADS.
