Dear Accountability Coordinators:
The purpose of this letter is to notify you that the California Department of Education (CDE) has extended the deadline for local educational agencies (LEAs) to make final data corrections for accountability progress reports and assessment reports in the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) Operational Data Store (ODS). The deadline has been extended to close of business on Thursday, November 7, 2013.
In September, the CDE made student-level data files available for download. These files contain data on continuous enrollment and demographics for the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) Program and California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE) and 2011–12 Cohort Graduation Rate. These data files should assist LEAs in identifying which student records need correcting in CALPADS. Accountability Coordinators should work with their CALPADS LEA Administrators to make necessary data corrections.
The CALPADS data corrections are for 2011–12 enrollment and exit data (for cohort graduation rate) and 2012–13 enrollment, exit, and demographic data. These data will be extracted from the CALPADS ODS on November 8. In February 2014, the CDE will publish Academic Performance Index (API) and Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) reports to reflect the enrollment, exit, and demographic data corrections made through the CALPADS ODS.
Questions regarding correcting data in CALPADS should be directed to the CALPADS Service Desk by phone at 916-325-9210 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have any questions regarding this letter or downloading the data files, please contact Justin Lane, Associate Governmental Program Analyst, Academic Accountability Unit, by phone at 916-323-1341 or by e-mail at email@example.com.
