Andrea Ball is the Deputy Superintendent for the Government Affairs Branch. She oversees the California Department of Education's Fiscal Policy Division and the Legislative Affairs Division. Ball is responsible for fiscal policy and legislative expertise within the Government Affairs Branch to coordinate CDE's positions on fiscal and legislative issues before the State Legislature, Congress, and the Administration.
Prior to this, Ball was the Director of Government Affairs for CDE where she administered the Department's activities relating to state and federal legislation and how it affects the public. Her prior experience includes serving for six years as Director of Government Relations for the Long Beach Unified School District.
Ball is a native of Long Beach and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of California, San Diego; a master's degree from the American Graduate School of International Management; and a law degree from Washington College of Law, American University. She is a member of the State Bar of California.
