Jeannie Oropeza is the Deputy Superintendent of the Services for Administration, Finance, Technology & Infrastructure Branch for the California Department of Education (CDE). The Branch oversees the CDE budget, accounting, information systems, and personnel services; apportionment of state and federal resources to local educational agencies (LEAs); and assistance to LEAs for fiscal and business aspects of public schools. Prior to coming to the CDE she was the Program Budget Manager of the Education Systems Unit (K-20) at the Department of Finance. Jeannie was with the Department of Finance since 1990 and worked in two units, Capital Outlay and Education Systems. Jeannie also worked in the Legislature for 2 years. While with the Legislature she worked for the Assembly Budget Committee as the Education Budget Consultant for K-12, Community Colleges, and Capital Outlay K-20. Prior to working at the Department of Finance, she worked at the Department of Food and Agriculture, first as an auditor and then as an accounting systems analyst. Ms. Oropeza received a Bachelor of Science degree from Sacramento State University. She majored in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. In addition, she obtained a minor in Spanish.
