Instructions: EIA Advisory Committee Approvals

Consolidated Application, Part I program instructions for the Economic Impact Aid Advisory Committee Approvals.
Data Collection Purpose

If the LEA is operating a State Compensatory Education program, various committee approvals are required based on California Education Code (EC), sections 35147 (c), 52176 (b) and (c), 62002.5, and 64001 (a).

Note: this data collection will not display if the LEA did not apply for EIA.


Guidance

District Advisory Committee (DAC): Shall include broad representation of the parent population served by this district or school respectively including socio-economic and ethnic groups represented in the district or school attendance area. (California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 5, Section 4423)

District-level English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC): Each California public school district, grades kindergarten through 12, with 51 or more English learners must form a DELAC or subcommittee of an existing district-wide advisory committee. Parents or guardians of English learners not employed by the district must constitute a majority membership (51 percent or more) of the committee. (EC Section 52176 [a])

Enter the DAC Representative’s full name. Provide the DAC Representative’s full name.

Enter DAC Approval Date. The LEA must provide an opportunity for the committee to review the EIA School Allocation plan prior to the local board meeting. (EC Section 64001 [a])

Enter a Comment if the committee refused to sign. Indicate the date(s) of meetings held to provide input, along with any explanation.

Enter the DELAC Representative’s full name. Provide the DELAC Representative’s full name.

EIA DAC approval is required. One or more schools have been selected to receive SCE allocations. If the district or COE elects to allocate SCE funds to one or more schools, DAC Date of approval is required.
If not blank, the DAC and DELAC Approval Dates cannot be later than the local governing board’s approval date and can’t be before 04/03/11 or later than 6/30/2012. Ensure that the dates are correct.
If the DAC Approval Date is blank, a comment must be entered providing an explanation. If the DAC Approval Date is blank, a comment must be entered providing an explanation of why approval was not obtained or that approval is not applicable.
If the DELAC Approval Date is blank, a comment must be entered providing an explanation. If the DELAC Approval Date is blank, a comment must be entered providing an explanation of why approval was not obtained or that approval is not applicable.
