2011-12 Free and Reduced Price Meal (FRPM)
The 2011-12 FRPM data collection has been included with today’s maintenance release of the CARS. It appears at the bottom of the list of 2011-12 data collections on both the Home and the Data Entry tabs. The collection is due 7/15/2012. Instructions for this data collection are attached.

Within CARS, the links to Instructions on the data entry forms for the following Title III data collections point to the prior period instructions (months 6 and 18). Attached are the instructions for the periods listed below. When the instructions have been approved for web publication, we will update the links in CARS.

- 2010-11 Title III, Part A LEP YTD Obligations Report (24 month)

Certify Data Tab and Certification of Assurance
The 2012-13 Certification of Assurance was included in the Spring 2012 Phase I release of the CARS last Friday. When an Authorized Representative clicks on the Certify Data tab for the first time, they will be directed to the 2012-13 Certification of Assurance form. This form must be completed before any data collections can be certified. After it is saved, the button labeled "Continue to Certify Data" is displayed at the bottom of the page. After the 2012-13 Certification of Assurance is completed, the next time the Authorized Representative clicks on the Certify Data tab they will taken directly to Certification of Data screen.
Local Governing Board Approval
The Application for Funding (along with any relevant plans and participation data collection) within the CARS is the only document that the LEA is required to submit to the local governing board for approval. However, the state recognizes that some local boards may want to review and/or approve other data collections prior to submitting those to the state. Up until August 31, the CARS will allow the LEA to submit a Consolidated Application (ConApp) with a local board approval date that is after the submission date (i.e., a pending/future date). However, on or after September 1, the CARS will not allow an LEA to enter a local board approval date that is after the submission date. Ultimately, the local board approval date should be supported by notes for a local board meeting on that date.
