Memo to local educational agency (LEA) representatives to provide information about the 2011-12 Title III, Part A Limited English Proficient (LEP) Nonprofit Private School Reimbursement data collection and the new Contacts tab.

2011-12 Title III, Part A LEP Nonprofit Private School Reimbursement
The 2011-12 Title III, Part A LEP Nonprofit Private School Reimbursement data collection has been released to production. The data collection is due August 31, 2012. The data collection is displayed for all LEAs, however only LEAs who received a Title III, Part A LEP entitlement or are a member of a Title III LEP consortium have to complete the data collection. Attached are the data entry form instructions.
Contacts

A Contacts tab was recently added to CARS. Be sure you enter your LEA contacts. Required contacts are: Consolidated Application (ConApp) Coordinator, Homeless and Foster Youth.

To assign a contact, click the “Assign” link to the right of the Contact Type, then select a contact from the drop down list. All LEA users are automatically included in the dropdown list. If the Program Contact is not a CARS user, click on the Add a Contact button. Complete the form provided and Save. Once saved, the person will be available in the contact selection drop down list.

Change to Other Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Nonprofit Private School Participation
To accommodate LEAs who are Title III, Part A LEP consortia members. The Other ESEA Nonprofit Private School Participation form will display the Title III, Part A LEP participation column for all LEAs.
