Negative Certification

A negative certification is assigned to a school district or county office of education when it is determined that, based upon current projections, the school district or county office of education will not meet its financial obligations for 2000-01 or 2001-02.

* The second interim report is based on information available through January 31, 2001. However, for the period ending April 30, 2001, Howell Mountain Elementary School District fund and cash balances indicate the district will be able to meet its financial obligations for fiscal years 2000-01 through 2002-03, which is comparable to a "positive" certification.

Qualified Certification

A qualified certification is assigned to a school district or county office of education when it is determined that, based upon current projections, the school district or county office of education may not meet its financial obligations for 2000-01, 2001-02, or 2002-03.
