Funding Description
This is a mandated supplemental instruction program in which local educational agencies (LEAs) shall offer, and charter schools may offer, programs of direct, systematic, and intensive supplemental instruction to pupils enrolled in second through ninth grade, inclusive, who have been recommended for retention or who have been retained.Eligibility

Of the total $57,838,000 funding available, $45,508,000 is available for expenditure in 2007-08, and $12,330,000 is deferred for expenditure in 2008-09. Local educational agencies are funded at a rate of $4.08 per pupil hour, except for small districts (those with 499 or fewer pupils), which are allowed the higher funding rate of $5.81 per pupil hour. Supplemental hours for grades two through nine as reported on the Attendance screens of the Principal Apportionment software will be used. Hours are uncapped and a proration factor may be applied if statewide claims are over the annual budget allocation. |
