Funding Description

Funding supports state-approved individual intervention materials for students who are required to pass the California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE) and have failed one or both parts of the examination.

Allocation Formula Eligible students are determined by using the data provided by LEAs to the California Department of Education (CDE) via an online form. Each LEA must submit the following data: (1) the number of grade twelve students in the class of 2007; (2) the number of grade twelve students in the class of 2007 who have not yet passed one or both parts of CAHSEE; (3) the number of grade eleven students in the class of 2008; and (4) the number of grade eleven students in the class of 2008 who have not yet passed one or both parts of the CAHSEE. To determine the number of eligible students for each district, CDE staff will add the number of students who have not yet passed one or both parts of the CAHSEE from each school.
