California Partnership Academies (CPA) New Funding

Funding Description

Funding is available for the CPA Program and is contingent on inclusion in the approved State Budget. Funding will be provided through the Governor's Technical Education (CTE) Initiative SB 70 for all industry sectors; and through AB519 for Green and Clean Academies. The CPAs are effective school / district / business partnership, providing integrated academic and career technical instruction. The CPA model, a school-within-a-school for students interested in exploring and preparing for careers and college. Funding is for CPAs in all industry sectors.

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria This is special funding for the CPA Program. Schools participating in the program must follow the specification of California Education Code sections 54690-54696.
Other Eligibility Considerations Applications must demonstrate that all grade 10 CPA components will be in place for the 2009-10 school year. First year programs meeting these requirements may apply for $42,000 of funding, based on enrollment of at least 30 qualifying students at $1400/student.
