California English Language Development Test (CELDT) Apportionment

Funding is provided to reimburse districts and charter schools the costs associated with administering the California English Language Development Test. The CELDT is a criterion-referenced examination and, as required by law, is aligned to the California English-language development standards adopted by the State Board of Education. Approximately 1,060 local educational agencies (LEAs) administer the CELDT during testing periods designated by the California Code of Regulations, Title 5, Section 11511.
