Gifted and Talented Education
Funding Description
Before 2008-09, the funds were restricted to the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program, which allocated funds to school districts and county offices of education (local educational agencies). The GATE program supports unique opportunities for high-achieving and underachieving students in public elementary and secondary schools in California who are identified as gifted and talented. Special efforts must be made to include students from economically disadvantaged and varying cultural backgrounds.Eligibility
