Race to the Top - Early Learning Challenge (RTT-ELC) FY 2012-13


Funding Description

The California RTT-ELC grant, issued by the United States Departments of Education and Health and Human Services, is federal funding that will be used to support planning and coordination for full implementation of a county or regional Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) to help improve access and quality of early learning programs for children with high needs, age 0-5.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies, other organizations or agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Potential Regional Leadership Consortia agencies must currently be operating or developing a QRIS and have submitted a Letter of Intent to Participate. Potential agencies must also be known for their success in delivering and investing in high-quality early learning and development programs as well as other program investments for children birth through age five, and be prepared to make significant financial investments in the further development of quality improvement initiatives in their region.
