California Preschool Instructional Network (CPIN) Grant


Funding Description

The California Preschool Instructional Network (CPIN) provides consistent and high-quality professional development, technical assistance, and support to California’s preschool program administrators and teachers. Network activities improve the quality of preschool programs for all children, including children with disabilities and those who are learning English, to further the Department’s mission of closing the achievement gap and promoting school readiness. Grants are allocated to each of the eleven (11) regions of the California county Superintendents Education Services Association (CCSEA).

Allocation Formula The base allocations ($2,072,166 total) were determined using demographic information in regard to children ages 3-5 years old in the counties within each CCSEA region. Additional funds ($1,313,863 total) were provided to address the needs of English Language learners.
