Community Day School Additional Funding


Funding Description

Before 2008-09, the funds were restricted to the Community Day School Additional Funding program, which allocated funds to school districts and county offices of education (local educational agencies). The funding was in addition to regular base revenue limit funding based on average daily attendance in the community day school.

Allocation Formula Of the total $41,685,000 funding available, $36,934,000 is available in 2012-13 and $4,751,000 is deferred until 2013-14.

Funding for this program from fiscal years 2008-09 through 2014-15 will be based on 2007-08 funding levels. LEAs will receive the same percentage of the available funding as they received from the allocated funds in 2007-08.

Note: In addition to this community day school additional funding, LEAs may also receive additional funding for the community day school pupils who were expelled for any of the mandatory expulsion offenses as described in the Community Day School Additional Funding for Mandatorily Expelled Pupils profile.

Other The funding for this program is now flexible pursuant to California Education Code Section 42605. LEAs may utilize all of their program funds to provide services for the program or they may use all or part of their program funds for other educational purposes and/or other categorical programs.

Funds are paid through the Principal Apportionment. Principal Apportionment amounts are calculated three times for each fiscal year: The First Principal Apportionment (P-1) is certified by February 20th, the Second Principal Apportionment (P-2) is certified by July 2nd and the Annual calculation is certified by February 20th of the following year (at the same time as the following year's P-1 certification).
