Migrant Alternative Payment Program FY 2012-13

Funding Description

Migrant Alternative Payment programs issue vouchers to eligible, migrant families that can be used to purchse child care and development services at legally operating child care providers throughout California's central valley. This program provides services for children birth through 12 years of age, and for older children with exceptional needs. Funding for services follows families as they move from place to place for agricultural work.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants Institutions of higher education, local educational agencies, nonprofit organizations, other organizations or agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria California Code of Regulations, Title 5, Section 18010 states, "Contractors that intend to accept the offer to continue services in the subsequent contract period shall respond to a Continued Funding Application request from the Child Development Division in accordance with the instructions and timelines specified in the request."

Allocation Formula Child Care and Development contracts are awarded through the Management Bulletin Continued Funding process. Reimbursements are provided to contractors in monthly apportionments.
