Perkins Equipment Grants

NOTE: The application due date for this program has passed.

Funding Description

To provide a select number of rural LEAs, as defined by the California State Board of Education, and who do not meet the minimum required Perkins threshold amount, a one-time additional grant allocation of up to $50,000.00 to purchase qualifying equipment.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Local Education Agencies that currently receive Perkins funding, are rural as defined by the California State Board of Education, and who do not meet the minimum required Perkins threshold amount. You cannot start a new CTE pathway with these funds. The selection criteria was based on those LEAs (secondary and adult) on their own or in a consortium to receive up to $50,000 to purchase equipment and/or capital outlay equipment that would not normally be afforded through their current Perkins allocation. This one-time only grant is to “Improve, Enhance, Expand, and Modernize” your CTE pathways to better prepare students for the industry standard skills necessary upon completion of the CTE pathway. Each individual member of a consortium is eligible to apply for the funds without the fiscal lead or other members, but must benefit the programs that are currently eligible for Perkins funded CTE programs and are “Mutually Beneficial” to the consortium as a whole.
Other Eligibility Considerations There will be a grant application that will be emailed to qualifying agencies with further instructions. We are asking that you provide your regionally assigned consultant a “proposed” list of equipment that is $500 or more, and is equipment that can “Improve, Enhance, Expand, and Modernize” your CTE pathways. Perkins guidelines and requirements apply to the proposed equipment purchases. This will be a reimbursable grant.
