CalSTAT Leadership Site Award

Funding Description
California Services for Technical Assistance and Training (CalSTAT), a special contracted project of the California Department of Education, Special Education Division, announces the 2005-06 Leadership Site competition. The goal of the competition is to (1) identify Leadership Sites in California public schools serving middle and high school students; and (2) provide sites with resources to share their work with others to continue the success of the project. Successful programs focus on the areas of literacy, positive behavioral supports, general and special education collaboration, transition to adult life, or family and school partnerships.Eligibility

Required Eligibility Criteria | An eligible applicant must: (1) be a California public school, charter school, or district serving middle or high school students; (2) have no outstanding systemic non-compliance issues of state or federal laws associated with the project site and receive no funds from the Williams Case; and (3) have a 2005–06 statewide school ranking of six or higher, based on the Academic Performance Index. |
Other Eligibility Considerations | Successful applicants must focus on one of the following five Core Message Areas: literacy, positive behavioral supports, general and special education collaboration, transition to adult life, or family and school partnerships. |
