Dear Charter School Administrators:
CHARTER SCHOOL FACILITY GRANT PROGRAM
The purpose of this letter is to provide charter schools with general information and instructions to claim final reimbursement for all eligible facility expenditures incurred during 2011–12 for the Charter School Facility Grant Program.Participating charter schools are those that submitted an application for funding and have met the program’s eligibility requirements in 2011–12. Once expenditures have been approved by the California Department of Education (CDE), final payments will be released.
To claim final reimbursement funding for 2011–12 facility expenditures, charter schools must:
Note: All Facility Expenditure Reports for reimbursement of 2011–12 costs must be accompanied by itemization of cost and proof of payment. Specifically, you must provide copies of invoices that establish the purpose of the cost, copies of cancelled checks that support payment or bank statements referencing the dollar amount deducted, or electronic fund transfers/deposits.
Charter schools should review the instructions carefully and submit claims and proof of payment only for those costs that are allowable for reimbursement pursuant to the instructions. Charter schools that do not submit the appropriate documentation will have their payments suspended and processed after the CDE has received the correct substantiation for reimbursable expenditures.
