Dear County Superintendents of Schools, Auditors, and Treasurers:
NOTICE OF THE FINAL APPORTIONMENT FOR THE
KINDERGARTEN THROUGH GRADE THREE
CLASS SIZE REDUCTION PROGRAM
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2004-05
This apportionment in the amount of $29,646,493, is made from funds provided by Item 6110-234-0001 of the Budget Act of 2004 (CHapter 208, Statutes of 2004) in support of the Kindergarten through Grade Three Class Size Reduction (K-3CSR) Program. Funds are apportioned at $928 per pupil in an Option 1 class (full day program), and at $464 per pupil in an Option 2 class (half day program). The apportionment for each local education agency (LEA) is based on actual enrollment in participating classes as submitted on the form J-7CSR, less any amount received in the December 2004 advance apportionment and the January 2005 provisional apportionment. The entitlement amounts have been reduced for those basic aid districts that selected the K-3 CSR program pursuant to Section 31 of Senate Bill 1108 (Chapter 216, Statutes of 2004).
Direct-funded and locally funded charter schools that applied for the K-3 CSR program on their own behalf are listed separately in the enclosed apportionment schedule. Funding for charter schools that did not apply on their own behalf is included in the chartering agency's entitlement if the chartering agency included charter school enrollment data in its J-7CSR.
Warrants will be mailed to each county treasurer approximately four weeks from the date of this notice. For standardized account code structure (SACS) coding, use Resource Code 1300, Class Size Reduction, Grades K-3, and Revenue Object Code 8434, Class Size Reduction, Grades K-3. County superintendents of schools are requested to inform LEAs, including applicant charter schools, immediately of this apportionment.
