July 14, 2006
Dear County Superintendents of Schools, Auditors, and Treasurers:
This apportionment in the amount of $30,177,058, is made from funds provided by Item 6110-234-0001 of the Budget Act of 2005 (Chapter 38, Statutes of 2005) in support of the kindergarten through grade three (K-3) Class Size Reduction (CSR) Program. Funds are apportionment at $967 per pupil in Option 1 class (full day program), and at $484 per pupil in an Option 2 class (half day program). The apportionment for each local educational agency (LEA) is based on actual enrollment in participating classes as submitted on the form J-7CSR, less any amount received in the September 2005 advance apportionment and the January 2006 provisional apportionment. The total allocation amounts have been adjusted for those basic aid districts that selected the K-3 CSR program for funding reduction pursuant to Section17 of Senate Bill 65 (Chapter 491, Statutes of 2005) and the procedures set forth in Section 27 of Senate Bill 63 (Chapter 73, Statutes of 2005).
Direct-funded and locally funded charter schools that applied for the K-3 CSR program on their own behalf are listed separately in the enclosed apportionment schedule. Funding for charter schools that did not apply on their own behalf is included in the chartering agency's entitlement if the chartering agency included charter school enrollment data in its J-7CSR.
Warrant will be mailed to each county treasurer approximately four weeks from the date of this Notice. For standardized account code structure (SACS) coding, use Resource Code 1300, Class Size Reduction, Grades K-3, and Revenue Object Code 8434, Class Size Reduction, Grades K-3. County superintendents of schools are requested to inform LEAs, including applicant charter schools, immediately of this apportionment.
