Dear Center for Civic Education:

NOTICE OF APPORTIONMENT FOR THE
CENTER FOR CIVIC EDUCATION
FISCAL YEAR 2012–13

This apportionment, in the amount of $200,000, is made from funds provided in Item 6110-208-0001, Center for Civic Education, of the Budget Act of 2012 (Chapter 21, Statutes of 2012).

A warrant will be mailed to the Center approximately four weeks from the date of this Notice. To view the schedule of apportionment, please visit the California Department of Education Categorical Programs Web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/aa/ca/.

California Education Code Section 42605 authorizes complete flexibility by the Center in the use of funds appropriated in the state budget for fiscal years 2008–09 through 2014–15 for numerous budget items, including the funds formerly restricted to the Center for Civic Education program. The Center may use the funds formerly restricted to this program for any educational purpose. Program and funding requirements as otherwise provided in statute, regulation, and budget act provisional language associated with the funding are not in effect.

This apportionment provides 100 percent of the amount owed to the Center from fiscal year 2012–13 funds appropriated in budget item 6110-208-0001 and reduced pursuant to Control Section 12.42 of the Budget Act of 2012.
