NOTICE OF FIRST APPORTIONMENT FOR THE
ENGLISH LANGUAGE ACQUISITION PROGRAM
FISCAL YEAR 2005-06
This apportionment, in the amount of $54,849,800, is made from funds provided by Item 6110‑125-0001 of the Budget Act of 2005 (Chapter 38, Statutes of 2005). Funding is provided for each eligible pupil enrolled in any of grades four through eight pursuant to Chapter 4 (commencing with Section 400) of Part 1 of the California Education Code. These funds are to be used to conduct academic assessments, provide instructional programs and supplemental instructional support, and coordinate services and funding sources for English learners. The amount apportioned to each local educational agency reflects 100 percent of the entitlement.
Direct-funded charter schools must apply individually for this program. We identify the amount for direct-funded charter schools separate from the district or county amount. All other charter schools must apply through their authorizing agency, and funding associated with the charter school is included in the district or county amount.
Warrants will be mailed to each county treasurer approximately four weeks from the date of this Notice. For standardized account code structure (SACS) coding, use Resource Code 6286, English Language Acquisition Program, Teacher Training & Student Assistance, and Revenue Object Code 8590, All Other State Revenue. County superintendents of schools are requested to inform local educational agencies immediately regarding this apportionment.
