Dear County Superintendents of Schools, Auditors, and Treasurers:
This apportionment, in the amount of $24,998,867, is made from one-time funds provided in Section 43(a)(4) of Assembly Bill 1802 (Chapter 79, Statutes of 2006). The funds are to be used solely for instructional materials, school and classroom library materials, and/or one-time education technology costs.
The final entitlement for each local educational agency (LEA) is determined by multiplying its October 2005 California Basic Educational Data System (CBEDS) enrollment counts for grades kindergarten through twelve by a rate of $15.85. The amount paid in this apportionment reflects 100 percent of each LEA’s final entitlement less funds previously paid.
Charter schools are eligible for these funds. We identify the amount for direct-funded charter schools separate from the district or county amount. Funding associated with all other charter schools is included in the district or county amount.
Warrants will be mailed to county treasurers approximately four weeks from the date of this Notice. For standardized account code structure coding, use Resource Code 7398, Instructional Materials, Library Materials, and Education Technology, and Revenue Object Code 8590, All Other State Revenue. County superintendents of schools are requested to inform LEAs immediately of this apportionment.
