Welfare and Institutions Code, Section 1120-1125.5 require the correctional education authority to ensure that juveniles committed have access to appropriate education programs. California's 65 county court schools provide educational services to more than 12,500 students, while nine Division of Juvenile Justice schools serve 2,000 students. It is estimated that English learners, represent about thirty percent of this student population.
