Dear Select County Superintendents of Schools, Auditors, and Treasurers:
This apportionment, in the amount of $826,385.50, is made from funds appropriated by Item 6110-101-0349(2) of Senate Bill 87 (Chapter 33, Statutes of 2011) of the Budget Act of 2011. Local educational agencies (LEAs) and direct-funded independently reporting charter schools that were not participants in the California School Information Services (CSIS) State Reporting Program are reimbursed annually at the rate of $.25 per student, based on the LEA’s certified enrollment count.
This additional allocation amount has been prorated and offset. The proration, using the following calculation, was based on the amount of funding we had available for distribution:
(LEA Enrollment Count/Total Eligible Enrollment Count) X $828,000
The offset was due to some LEAs and direct-funded independently reporting charter schools not receiving their reimbursement for 2011–2012. The 2011–2012 allocation amounts had to be prorated when these LEAs and direct-funded independently reporting charter schools were recalculated.
Warrants will be mailed to each County Treasurer approximately four weeks from the date of this Notice. For standardized account code structure coding, use Resource Code 0000, Unrestricted, and revenue Object Code 8590. County Superintendents of Schools are requested to inform LEAs, including direct-funded independently reporting charter schools, immediately of this apportionment.
In an effort to streamline the state apportionment process, we will only post the schedules of apportionment on the California Department of Education (CDE) Web page. To view the schedule for this apportionment, which shows, by county, the payment to each LEA, please visit the CDE SSID Funding Results Web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/fo/r5/ssid11result.asp.
