Problem: Form 01CS – Criteria and Standards Review Form, Supplemental Information Item S6 (District only) (Posted 6/17/08)
In the last row of Section S6A, Identification of the District’s Long-term Commitments, of the district budget criteria and standards review form, the first and second subsequent year columns are being compared to the previous year (first interim to budget and second interim to first interim) rather than to the prior year (2006-07) to determine whether or not total annual payments have increased over prior year.
Fix: Save (do not open) the revised cs-a template file – (REVISED 16-Jun-08; VTS; 652KB) to a temporary folder such as C:\SACS2008\Temporary. To save, right click on the file name, click on Save Link As (or Save Target As), select (or create) the desired folder in which to save the file, then click Save. Once the file has been saved, copy the file from the Temporary folder into your C:\SACS2008\Templates folder. Upon copying the file to the Templates folder, a message will display that the file already exists; select Yes to overwrite the existing template file with the revised file.
To verify that you have replaced the old cs-a.vts file, the date on the new template file in your C:\SACS2008\Templates folder should be the same as or later than the revised date above (the file may have the date it was downloaded). Changing this file will not affect your data, other than to correctly reflect any increase in annual payments.
Problem: Form CB – Budget Certification, Criteria and Standards Review Summary, Supplemental Information Item S6 (Posted 6/12/08)
When Line 1a in the Criteria and Standards Review form (Form 01CS), Supplemental Information Section S6B is “No” it appears on the Budget Certification (Form CB) in the “Yes” column instead of in the “No” column.
Fix: Save (do not open) these files: revised cb template file (REVISED 09-Jun-2008; VTS; 46KB), revised cb-c template file (REVISED 10-Jun-2008; VTS; 50KB) and revised cb-j template file (REVISED 10-Jun-2008; VTS; 46KB) to a temporary folder such as C:\SACS2008\Temporary. To save, right click on the file name, click on Save Link As (or Save Target As), select (or create) the desired folder in which to save the file, then click Save. Once all of the files have been saved, copy the files from the Temporary folder into your C:\SACS2008\Templates folder. Upon copying the files to the Templates folder, a message will display that the files already exist; select Yes to All to overwrite the existing template files with the revised files.
To verify that you have replaced the old cb.vts, cb-c.vts, and cb-j.vts files, the dates on the new template files in your C:\SACS2008\Templates folder should be the same as or later than the revised dates above (the files may have the dates they were downloaded). Changing these files will not affect your data, other than to correctly report Supplemental Information Item S6 on the Budget Certification.
Problem: Run-time Error 429
Periodically, the required Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) file is not properly installed on Windows 98 machines, causing a run-time error 429 upon opening the Standardized Account Code Structure (SACS) software.
Fix: Be sure all other applications are closed, then download this file: Microsoft Data Access Components.exe (EXE; 7MB). Once downloaded, double-click on the file to begin installation (be sure to read the prompts thoroughly). When the installation is completed, the SACS software should open properly.
