  • Minutes of previous meeting, May 19, 2011
  • Hedy Chang's July 13, 2011, presentation to the State Board of Education titled "Reviewing Chronic Absence Data in the Early Grades to Reduce the Number of California Dropouts"
  • Review of the invitation letter, application, and rubric for the 2011 Model School Attendance Review Boards (SARBs) Recognition Program
  • Next steps in revising the 2009 School Attendance Review Boards Handbook
  • Follow-up to the annual State SARB recommendations and expected contributions by State SARB members
  • Review of possible dates for future State SARB meetings after October 20, 2011: December 15, 2011; March 15, 2012; June 21, 2012; August 23, 2012; November 22, 2012; February 21, 2013
  • Plan to survey school districts about their early warning systems and their use of chronic absence rates
