March 23, 2006
Dear County Superintendents of Schools, Auditors, and Treasurers:
This apportionment, in the amount of $2,642,349, is made from funds provided by Item 6110-234-0001 of the Budget Act of 2003 (Chapter 157, Statutes of 2003) in support the Kindergarten through Grade Three Class Size Reduction (K-3 CSR) Program. Funds are apportioned at $906 per pupil in an Option 1 class (full day program), and at $453 per pupil in an Option 2 class (half day program). The apportionment for each local educational agency (LEA) is based on actual enrollment in participating classes as submitted on revised fiscal year 2003-04 form J-7CSR, Report of enrollment, less any amounts received in prior apportionments.
Direct-funded and locally funded charter schools that applied for the K-3 CSR program on their own behalf are listed separately in the enclosed apportionment schedule. Funding for charter schools that did not apply on their own behalf is included in the chartering agency's entitlement if the chartering agency included charter school enrollment data in its J-7CSR.
Warrants will be mailed to each county treasurer approximately four weeks from the date of this Notice. For standardized account code structure (SACS) coding, use Resource Code 1300, Class Size Reduction, Grades K-3, and Revenue Object Code 8434, Class Size Reduction, Grades K-3. County superintendents of schools are requested to inform LEAs, including applicant charter schools, immediately of this apportionment.
